This is from Weather.com and it shows a bunch of pictures from Winter storm Nemo.

These Photos are Sky Shots from this Semester.

In this picture and a few to follow the cloud cover is Altostratus. Just as a review: Altostratus clouds are gray or blue-gray middle level clouds composed of ice crystals and water droplets. These clouds usually cover the entire sky. In the thinner areas of the cloud, the sun may be dimly visible as a round disk. Altostratus clouds often form ahead of storms that will produce continuous precipitation.
This cloud cover makes sense day after day because this season has been full of precipitation wheather it has been rain or snow. It has been percipatitting a lot.

Ready for rain/snow? There has been a lot this season.

This photo was taken on April 4th 2013. The whole sky was covered with clouds but they did not look   full of perception, as they were not very dark. As you can see there was snow fall the night before, so that would classify these as nimbostratus. (The reason the picture seems grainy is because I took it through the window.)
This photo was taken April 5th 2013. (the day after the photo above) As you can see the sky is clearing away with the reddish sunset peaking through. this means that the next day it should be clear because in  a ye olde English weather proverb "red sky at night, sailors delight."
This photo was taken on the 5th and the next few pictures after this one show the movement of the clouds and the clearing. We should also be noting the color in the sky because that could forecast the weather for the next day easily.

.... And on the 7th the sky is fairly clear. No more rain/snow for a while.

Here, on April 15 the clouds are getting heavy agin. they look like altostratus and they mean we need to be ready for more precipitation.

This photo was taken in the dessert on spring break in Las Vegas, Nevada. I wanted to inculde this photo not only for bragging rights but also to show that we live in a different climate and the sky seems to reflect that. In Vegas the weather was around 70-75 dry heat, in April. little to no clouds in the sky. Mainly because of the water vapor which was very scares.

This picture was taken just the other day, as you can see the cloud cover is altostratus, you can tell that by the gray color that they detail.
